Man kills 5-year-old daughter

Koraput: A 35-year-old man allegedly murdered his five-year-old daughter in RSC-14 village under Chitrakonda police limits in Malkangiri district. The deceased child has been identified as Blesi Rani Bhatra, while the accused is Sanjeev Bhatra.

According to police, Sanjeev attacked Blesi with a sharp-edged weapon while she was playing at home. Upon hearing her cries, villagers rushed to the scene and found the child in a pool of blood.

She was taken to Chitrakonda hospital, but unfortunately, she was declared dead upon arrival, said Mukul Melka, IIC, Chitrakonda police station.

After committing the alleged crime, Sanjeev fled the scene. Blesi’s grandfather, Binod Bhatra, has accused Sanjeev of killing his daughter under the influence of his second wife. The child was from his first marriage, said Melka.
