Chennai: NTK chief coordinator Seeman on Sunday slammed the DMK and AIADMK saying there was no difference between the two parties in their anti-people approach.
"Both the Dravidian parties are focussed on getting votes of people and not on improving their lives. When they come to power, the DMK and AIADMK have the same approach when it comes to corruption, liquor ban and smuggling of natural resources,'' Seeman said on the sidelines of a protest organised against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in Chennai.
He pointed out that former chief minister K Kamaraj had said decades ago that both the DMK and the AIADMK are the same. Attacking the BJP-led Union govt for the Waqf bill, alleging that the Muslims are constantly targeted for the Waqf properties.
Seeman said that while Muslims and Christians are not appointed in the boards managing properties of Hindu temples, the Waqf bill enables appointment of non- Muslims in Waqf board.
He alleged that the bill was also an intrusion into state autonomy. "The Union govt has already taken away several rights earlier vested with state govts. Now they have touched upon the Waqf board as well," he said.
He alleged that in the name of industrial development and employment, the Union govt was planning to take away the 38 lakh hectares of land belonging to the Waqf board.
