CHENNAI: A technical snag was reported on platform one of the Airport Metro station on Monday afternoon. However, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) said the issue was resolved within an hour and train services remained unaffected.
The glitch affected the automated system used to receive train arrival data and manage track switching at platform one. During this period, trains were operated on the second line between Airport and Alandur.
A team of engineers inspected the site and manually restored the system.
CMRL said services continued without disruption, operating at the scheduled holiday frequency of 7 to 10 minutes, as Monday was a govt holiday on account of Tamil New Year.
