JIND: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda paid floral tributes at the statue of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedekar to mark his birth anniversary here in Jind on Monday.
In the program organized here, he also remembered his important contribution in the making of the Constitution. Hooda said that Babasaheb had given the basic mantra of 'Be educated, stay organized, struggle' to the society. We should never forget this mantra. Hooda said the country and society can progress only by moving forward on the teachings given by him and the path shown by him.
Hooda said that his father Late. Ranbir Singh Hooda also served as a member of the Constituent Assembly under the chairmanship of Babasaheb.
“The constitution on which has Babasaheb's signature, also has the signature of my late father. This is a matter of pride for us. This is one of the many reasons why his family has always had a special personal attachment with the constitution and memories related to Babasaheb," said Hooda.
Responding to questions after the program, Hooda commented on the Prime Minister's speech while his visits in Hisar and Yamunanagar on Monday saying that instead of political taunts, the PM Modi should talk about the increasing unemployment in Haryana, lakhs of vacant posts, deteriorating law and order and falling level of development. The Prime Minister should have told how the BJP government of the state has pushed Haryana from the number one position in development to the abyss,” he stated.
He termed the dismissal of the employees of Kaushal Rojgar Nigam as a breach of promise by the BJP. He said before the elections, the government had promised to make all the Kaushal Nigam workers permanent, but as soon as the government was formed for the third time, the BJP started pushing the youth into the quagmire of unemployment. He said the BJP has forgotten its election promises made to every section including skilled workers.
Hooda justified Vinesh Phogat's demand for prize money. He said the Congress government had made a policy to give posts and appropriate rewards to encourage players. But the BJP completely demolished that policy.
He said that wheat procurement is not happening smoothly in the mandis. “Agencies are refusing to buy by making the excuse of moisture. Due to unseasonal rains, the problems of farmers have also increased due to increase in the amount of moisture in wheat. Dry wheat is also having 13 to 15% moisture. Farmers and commission agents have raised the demand to increase the 12% moisture exemption by 2% to 14%,” he stated.
Supporting their demand, Hooda said during the Congress tenure, farmers were often given additional relaxation in moisture, which is why farmers did not face any problem in selling their crops. “But during the BJP tenure, the crops of the farmers are destroyed due to unseasonal rains, lack of arrangements of gunny bags and tarpaulins in the mandis, delay in purchase and timely lifting of the produce. “In such a situation, the farmers have to bear the brunt of natural calamity or government negligence,” he added.
