Jaipur: The additional district court no 1 of Jaipur metropolitan no 11 ordered Mahavir Upadhyay, former assistant of Congress candidate from Malviya Nagar constituency, Archana Sharma, not to make illegal recordings without the consent of Archana Sharma and broadcast the insulting facts through any medium.
The court gave this order while hearing the petition filed by Dr Archana Sharma in the defamation complaint. Presiding officer BL Chandel said in his order that losing the election does not mean that a person does not have dignity. "In the original suit, the plaintiff Sharma sought compensation of Rs 10 crore, but in reality, if someone was insulted, then this is such a loss which cannot be compensated by money," said Chandel in the order Friday.
In the claim, Archana said that she was the Congress candidate from Malviya Nagar constituency. Prior to the assembly elections on Nov 22, 2023, her fabricated audio was made viral by Mahavir Upadhyay, who was her former assistant.
"She was removed 2.5 year prior to the elections. Due to this, he made a fabricated audio viral on social media on Nov 22, 2022. Archana also lodged an FIR in Sanganer police station, yet the audio was circulated on WhatsApp and YouTube. This damaged the reputation of the plaintiff's family," Jain said.
