LUDHIANA: A gas leak triggered a fire in Samrat Colony, Giaspura, sparking panic in a residential area on Tuesday night.
The blaze engulfed four rooms, leaving at least seven people injured, including a 7-year-old girl.
The incident occurred due to the illegal refilling of LPG cylinders in a makeshift workshop. Eyewitnesses reported hearing screams from the affected house, prompting locals to rush to the scene.
Five people attempting to rescue the family were also injured. The victims, including Shivani (7) and Phoolmati (35), were rushed to nearby hospitals.
