Greater Noida: A case was registered on Sunday against four B-Pharma students from a private educational institution a day after a physical altercation took place in the campus premises. Police said the accused are absconding. Dankaur SHO Munendra Singh told TOI the incident occurred in Greater Noida around 4pm on Saturday.
The institution's administration has suspended all students identified as "participants in the altercation". The SHO said, "We registered a case of assault and passing lewd comments under relevant sections of the BNS on the complaint of Harendra Kumar, a BPharma student, against Prince and three unidentified suspects."
Several clips, which surfaced on social media platforms on Sunday, showed students engaging in physical confrontations and attacking one another.
The footage also captured numerous other students who assembled across various floors of the institution building to witness the incident.
Trouble began when third-year students were conversing in the laboratory and inadvertently, saliva droplets landed on a fellow student. This led to a heated verbal exchange between them.
Subsequently, the students engaged in a physical altercation openly within the university grounds, the SHO said.
After the fight, one of the students, who was assaulted over the spit, approached police on Saturday night. This is not the first time college students in Noida have been involved in a fight. In Dec 2024, during a fresher party at a private college in Knowledge Park (Greater Noida), a fight between college bouncers and students took place after an argument.
Another fight took place in the same month on the college campus when three female students were found beating another girl.
A video of the incident had also gone viral on several social media sites.
In a similar incident that took place last year, two groups of students clashed on the college campus, leading to an incident where a student's turban fell off. The altercation was captured in a video that went viral on social media. Later, an FIR was filed at Maurice Nagar police station. And cops also launched an investigation into the case.
