BJP politicising & demeaning Army for electoral gains: Baghel

Send Push

Raipur: AICC general secretary and former CM Bhupesh Baghel said that the BJP politicised ‘Operation Sindoor'. The sindoor that women adorn in their head parting as a symbol of their husbands' well-being is now being used by BJP leaders to create division, Baghel said.

The Indian Army does not belong to any political party, nor to any particular govt. The Indian Army belongs to the nation and has always made the ultimate sacrifice to uphold the unity and integrity of the country, said Baghel while talking to reporters after the ‘Jai Hind Sabha' at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

"There will be many other opportunities to seek votes, Prime Minister. Please do not demean the Army by using it for political gain," Baghel added.

"Why has the govt not identified the four terrorists of Pahalgam until now?" Baghel asked. The Congress leader demanded that the govt make the ceasefire terms public. He also questioned why a ceasefire was implemented at the behest of an American President, stating that the Shimla Agreement clearly stipulates that no third party should interfere in the issue between India and Pakistan. Baghel also recalled how former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi fought Pakistan and created Bangladesh.
