Send Push
KALYAN: In a unique initiative in Dombivli, the city known as the cultural capital of Maharashtra, many people of Dombivli have established this identity by working tirelessly.

These Dombivlikars, who carry the city of Dombivli across the seas, are idols for others. To honour such eminent personalities who contributed to the city, the area outside the Dombivli railway station was cleared of dumps and illegal constructions.

The surrounding area was cleaned and beautified, with beautiful walls decorated with photographs and information about the achievements of eminent people of the city. This ensures that Dombivlikars are always aware of their achievements, and the next generation of Dombivlikars can draw inspiration from their work.

The beautiful walls are adorned with photographs and writings of various dignitaries, including Educationist Surendra Vajpayee, Literature S N Navare, P B Bhave and many others.

The station wall was beautified by installing huge arches at the railway station. In the direction of the station in the west, where there were previously unauthorized dumps and illegal shops, the municipal corporation removed them and created a suitable space there.

A protective wall of the railway was built at that location, and these photos are placed on that wall.

PWD Minister Ravindra Chavan, who oversaw this development work during the inauguration of the project, said, "Dombivli city is famous as the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Along with this, our city is known globally as a Literary City, Sports City, and Industrial City. Many people of Dombivli have established this identity by working tirelessly. These Dombivlikars, who carry the city of Dombivli across the seas, are idols for others. Through this beautiful wall, today's generation will gain information about the people who grew up in Dombivli and contributed through their talents across the state and country."

Chavan stated, "Our city of Dombivli is the first city in the country to honour personalities who have contributed to the development of the city in this manner." Everyone who comes to Dombivli city from any corner of the world, upon seeing these murals, will surely feel that a similar concept should be followed in their cities.

Dombivli residents also appreciated this move, especially the younger generation who did not know about these eminent personalities.
