The recent terror attacks in Kashmir's Pahalgam region left the nation shaken, with disturbing visuals and heart-wrenching news triggering grief and outrage across the country. In the midst of public silence from many, actress Hina Khan stood out for her thoughtful and courageous response to the incident — a gesture that has now earned praise from fellow actor Nyrraa M Banerji.
Expressing her admiration for Hina’s post, Nyrraa shared how deeply moved she was by Hina’s choice of words and her willingness to speak on such a sensitive issue. “I really loved the way Hina Khan expressed her opinion on this matter. I do understand that this is a sensitive issue, and as actors and public figures, when we say stuff, it can easily get twisted and moulded in different ways,” Nyrraa said.
She further reflected on the reluctance of many celebrities to speak out. “This has been a big reason why a lot of actors choose to remain silent on issues pertaining to the country. I was quite upset that not many Indian artistes who follow Islam as a religion were condemning the attack or saying anything in public. Then, I saw Hina’s post — it came like a breath of fresh air for me.”
Praising Hina’s clarity and compassion, Nyrraa added, “These are the kind of people we recognise as wonderful human beings. It’s a human being who’s wonderful first and then comes the religion. I can proudly say that Hina Khan is a wonderful human being and a patriotic Indian Muslim — the kind we need now to prevent unnecessary hate.”
On the professional front, Nyrraa was last seen in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter and is currently working on new projects to be announced soon.
