Who is Hannah Dugan? Judge Dugan, or Hannah Dugan, has been a Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge since 2016, and has been indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday for obstruction of justice and concealing Mexican national Eduardo Flores-Ruiz from federal law enforcement at the end of a pre-trial hearing.

According to prosecutors, Dugan escorted Ruiz and his lawyer out of her courtroom through a back jury door on April 18, after learning that ICE agents were in the courthouse for his arrest. While Ruiz was caught outside in a subsequent foot chase, Dugan was suspended from the bench in April by the state supreme court in a move expected to preserve public confidence in the judiciary.

If convicted on both counts, Dugan could face six years in prison. Her team of defence attorneys have maintained a single-line response saying that she maintains her innocence and looks forward to being vindicated by the court.

Ruiz had ended up in Dugan's court in mid-March after he allegedly punched and choked a man during an argument and hit a woman who tried to break it up, as per a police report.
