John Cena is one of the best wrestlers to ever do it and has been one of the top WWE stars for almost two decades now. Over his impressive career, Cena has managed to win a total of 16 WWE world titles and holds the record along with Ric Flair. However, it won’t be long before Cena fights his last match in the ring as he has announced that he will retire next year.

A History of John Cena's Relationships: Girlfriends

1) Nikki Bella

Nicole Garcia, who is better known as former WWE star Nikki Bella, had a very public relationship with John Cena. The two got together back in November 2012 and dated for four years before finally getting engaged. It all seemed to be going well for Bella and Cena, but their relationship came to a swift end a month before they were to get married.

2) AJ Lee

Before Nikki Bella, Cena seemed to be having a fling with former WWE star and CM Punk’s wife, AJ Lee. The two shared one kiss too many on the WWE screen and there was also talk of them having a relationship off camera. However, AJ Lee and Cena’s supposed relationship didn’t last too long and the two were only together from July to December 2012.

3) Mickie James

Back when John Cena was still married to Elizabeth Huberdeau there were plenty of rumors suggesting that Cena had an encounter with former WWE star, Mickie James. However, in the end these only ended up being rumors as nothing was ever confirmed by either party. The rumor might have never come to be if not for Cena’s ongoing divorce with Huberdeau at the time.

1) Elizabeth Huberdeau

John Cena’s first marriage was with Elizabeth Huberdeau, who was also his high school sweetheart. The wedding took place in 2009, but their union did not turn out to be as happy as it seemed in the beginning. After just three years of marriage, Elizabeth and Cena decided to call it quits in 2012. After the divorce, TMZ reported that Cena’s wife had a prenuptial agreement in place which limited her ability to financially gain something from the divorce. However, not many details about their divorce ever saw the light of day, which just goes to show how discreet Cena is about his personal matters.

2) Shay Shariatzadeh

John Cena got married for a second time after meeting Shay Shariatzadeh on the set of Playing with Fire. Shay who was an engineer at Microsoft had absolutely nothing to do with the wrestling world which has allowed Cena to keep most of their relationship private. Even Cena’s wedding happened in a very discreet manner in Florida back in 2020. Now the two have been together for three years. While Cena keeps his relationship with Shay private, he often expresses just how happy she makes him.
