Bill Goldberg is one of the most celebrated wrestlers and a legendary figure in WWE. He is one of the prominent figures in the modern wrestling scenario. The two-time WWE Universal Champion is all set to hang up his boots in 2025, and it is speculated that the wrestling icon is soon to make an appearance and is all set to lock horns with his opponent. However, this has not been confirmed officially yet by the company management or Goldberg himself.

Earlier, Goldberg himself confirmed that 2025 is going to be his last year in WWE. In an interview, the icon announced that 2025 will be his last year. However, fresh insights have emerged on the Hall of Famer’s retirement and exit. Let’s take a look at the recent update on Goldberg’s retirement.

New updates emerge on Bill Goldberg’s retirement
The WWE Hall of Famer , who has been planning his retirement for a long time in 2025, will finally act upon it soon. Bill Goldberg in an interview revealed about his plans saying, "You know 2025 Goldberg makes his uh return, retirement yeah. I got a couple of months to get ready you know, no date, no time so we'll see stay tuned.”

However, new updates on the retirement says that Goldberg’s name has been discussed internally and his retirement game has now been taken into consideration. According to WrestleVotes, On Thursday, Goldberg’s name has been discussed internally by WWE recently. It was noted that this is the first time his name has been discussed since he appeared at Bad Blood in Atlanta in October.

“According to multiple sources, Goldberg’s name has been floated internally within WWE over the past week — the first time since his Bad Blood appearance and his interactions with Gunther. Feels like the inevitable return is nearing,” WrestleVotes posted on Twitter.

Not only them, even Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select said that Gunther has been mentioned within WWE as Goldberg’s opponent. It was also noted that a Goldberg vs. Gunther's match has been taken into consideration and discussed for this year. Last year, Gunther referenced Goldberg in a promo ahead of their Bad Blood faceoff, which was done “for good reason.”

However, Gunther was the wrestler with whom Goldberg wanted to play his last bout before bidding goodbye to the ring. This came after the icon had a verbal exchange of fierce words with Gunther on Bad Blood, after which he announced his return to put an end to his career.

Meanwhile, Gunther is currently preparing for his upcoming bout against Pat McAfee at WWE Backlash, which is set to start on May 10, 2025, from St. Louis, Missouri.

Previously, Goldberg was set to appear on the January 27, 2025, edition of WWE RAW, which emanated live from Atlanta. However, the match was not scheduled despite reports of his appearance.
