According to WrestleVotes, On Thursday, Goldberg’s name has been discussed internally by WWE recently. It was noted that this is the first time his name has been discussed since he appeared at Bad Blood in Atlanta in October.

It was also noted that a Goldberg vs. Gunther's match has been taken into consideration and discussed for this year. Last year, Gunther referenced Goldberg in a promo ahead of their Bad Blood faceoff, which was done “for good reason.”
However, Gunther was the wrestler with whom Goldberg wanted to play his last bout before bidding goodbye to the ring. This came after the icon had a verbal exchange of fierce words with Gunther on Bad Blood, after which he announced his return to put an end to his career.
