Juan Toscano-Anderson , who once won an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors , recently narrated his heartbreaking story of his life. Toscano-Anderson shared that he was homeless, not once but three times. Still, he was clear on his goal and made it to the NBA playing for one of the biggest organizations— the Golden State Warriors.

Juan Toscano-Anderson admitted that during his first year as a professional, he was afraid to spend money, not out of caution, but fear. His experienced homelessness three times, and the thought of going broke again haunted him. "When I first started making money, my first year playing pro, I didn't spend money because I was scared. I was scared to spend money because I've been homeless three times, bro. And I'm like, man, I never want to be broke again, ever," Toscano-Anderson said in a new NBA G League documentary.
However, his first big paycheck was not utilized the right way, at least, the way he would spend every dollar today. He admitted that he was careful with the spending but the lack of guidance held him back from expanding the money.
"But the negative side of that, had I, was if I was educated and financially literate, I would have took that $70,000 and that $70,000 probably would be a million dollars today," he said.
He went on to add, "If I knew then what I know today, I would have took that money and invested it. I would have spent it on the right things. But what I've learned out on 31, like I call my money my paper soldiers. Whenever I, that's what I call them. Because when I make money, I'm trying to figure out how can you go get me more money?"
Indeed, investment is the key, at least many NBA stars made big fortune from investing their NBA salary in the right places at the right time.
He went undrafted in 2015, and then Toscano-Anderson started his pro career in Mexico with Soles de Mexicali and Fuerza Regia. He later joined the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League .
