Google TVs start getting AI art screensaver: Here's how this feature

Send Push
Google TV devices are receiving a fresh batch of features. This includes AI-powered art screensavers and a centralised smart home control panel. The AI art screensavers transform idle TV screens into personalised artwork and use Google 's generative AI capabilities. Users can further customise these screensavers with images from their Google Photos library. Additionally, the new home panel offers a unified interface for managing smart home devices directly from the Google TV interface.

Google TV AI art screensaver : How it works

In a recent blog post, Google detailed this feature that offers three ways to create unique screensavers: by typing a specific prompt, selecting from pre-made templates, or using the "Inspire Me" option for a randomized AI art creation.

For those who prefer personal photos, Google TV also allows users to select albums from their Google Photos library to display as screensavers. However, this requires users to be logged into their Google account and does not allow for the selection of individual images.

This update enhances the personalisation options for Google TV users, allowing them to transform their idle screens into dynamic displays of AI-generated art or cherished memories from their photo library.

Step-by-step guide to use this feature

To personalise your Google TV screensaver with AI-generated art, navigate to Settings > System > Ambient mode on your Google TV home screen. Select " Custom AI Art " and choose from three creation methods: describe your desired art, use the "Inspire Me" option, or select from suggested templates. After generating the AI art, you can scroll through variations and save your preferred images. Finally, select "Set all as screensaver" to apply your custom artwork.
