Google has begun rolling out its October Pixel Drop brings a host of new features to Pixel devices, especially improvements to camera capabilities, and device integration across the Pixel ecosystem.

Beyond Android 15 that also dropped yesterday, the October Pixel Drop introduces several new Pixel-specific features. Underwater photography and video recording capabilities have been added to the Pixel 9 series, enabling richer and more accurate colours when using waterproof cases for activities like snorkelling.

The Audio Magic Eraser feature, previously exclusive to the Pixel 8 series, has been upgraded to allow users to adjust the volume of specific sounds and voices independently. This improved Audio Magic Eraser is now available on Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and 8a phones.

Google has also expanded its Pixel Weather app to Pixel 6 and newer devices globally. The app now includes a pollen tracker with detailed breakdowns for grass, tree, and weed pollens in select European countries.

Astrophotography mode now has a dedicated slider in Night Sight mode. Additionally, Night Sight capabilities have been integrated directly into Instagram for Pixel 6 and newer phones, excluding the A-series.

Features coming to Pixel Buds and Pixel Watch with October Pixel Drop
The update brings improvements to the Pixel ecosystem as a whole. Pixel Buds users can now access Gemini, Google's AI assistant, hands-free across all models. The Pixel Tablet receives new screensaver options and improved photo sharing capabilities from its digital photo frame mode.

Pixel Watch users benefit from updated Gmail functionality, allowing emoji reactions to emails directly from the watch. The Loss of Pulse Detection feature on Pixel Watch 3 has also expanded to additional European countries.
