Nothing will unveil its first Community Edition smartphone on October 30 at 11:00 GMT (4:30 PM IST). The Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition is the culmination of a six-month project that invited Nothing's fan community to participate in the device's design process.
The Community Edition Project , announced in March 2024, allowed Nothing fans to contribute ideas for the phone's hardware design, wallpapers, packaging, and marketing campaigns. The final design features a unique "Phosphorescence" concept with a green finish that glows in the dark.
While the external design has been influenced by community input, the internal specifications are expected to remain identical to the standard Nothing Phone (2a). The original model, launched in March 2024, features a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC, a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
It remains to be seen how this special edition will be priced compared to the standard Phone (2a), which started at Rs. 23,999 in India for the base 8GB + 128GB configuration.
The launch of the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition will take place during the company's next quarterly update, where more details about availability and pricing are expected to be revealed.
