When Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's wife Priscilla Chan found his gift 'Weird'

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that the giant sculpture he gifted his wife, Priscilla Chan , last year was not very well received. “I don't think she was that happy with it”, the 40-year-old Facebook founder said in an episode of the ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast with Theo Von. Zuckerberg said that he and Chan aren't fans of extravagant dates, so he often relies on creative, grand gestures instead. He added that Chan was a "good sport" and appreciated the effort and creativity behind the statue, further admitting that this particular gesture missed the mark.

"She doesn't want a sculpture of her in the front lawn — that's weird," Zuckerberg told Von. “Who wants a sculpture of themselves in the front yard?,” he asked.

For those unaware, the Meta CEO unveiled a colossal sculpture of his wife in the backyard of their expansive California estate. The CEO then shared a photo of his wife standing next to the statue in an Instagram post.

“Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife. Thanks @danielarsham,” Zuckerberg captioned the post. The colorful artwork was made by US-based Daniel Arsham .

Mark Zuckerberg is the founder, chairman and CEO of Meta, which he originally founded as Facebook in 2004. He started dating Chan in 2003 after meeting at a college party while Zuckerberg was still in Harvard.

The two then married in 2012 and have three daughters together – Maxima, August, and Aurelia.

Sharing their story in a Facebook post last year, Zuckerberg wrote “We met at a going away party my friends threw for me in college when they thought I was about to get kicked out of school. I asked her out but told her we'd need to go out soon since I might only have a few days left. Later on I started Facebook, we got married, and now have three wonderful girls. What a wild ride.”
