Former Jharkhand CM Arjun Munda's wife Meera files nomination from Potka

Meera Munda , wife of former Jharkhand chief minister and union minister Arjun Munda , on Thursday filed her nomination in Jamshedpur as BJP candidate from Potka . Potka, located in East Singhbhum district, is one of the 81 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand.

After filing her nomination in Jamshedpur, Meera said, "The party has made me their candidate, which must have been decided after due deliberations. I filed the nomination today. After this, I will go to my constituency and meet people... Victory is certain."

The BJP had announced Meera Munda's name in its first list of 66 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand.



Arjun Mu nda also expressed confidence that the people of Potka, as well as the entire state, will choose a BJP-led NDA government in the assembly elections.

"All NDA candidates are filing their nominations for the upcoming Assembly elections. Today, several candidates will file nominations in Jamshedpur as well. We will receive the people's blessings... A government is formed with the people's blessings. We are confident that this time the people of Potka, as well as the entire state, will choose NDA... We are moving forward with the goal of forming a government with a full majority," the former CM said.


Arjun Munda served as the second chief minister of Jharkhand from September 2010 to January 2013. He was the union minister of tribal affairs from May 2019 to June 2024.

The 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held in two phases: November 13 and November 20. The counting of votes and results will be declared on November 23.
