The heavy downpour in the IT hub city has left commuters stuck in traffic on the flyover for around 3 hours.

Thousands of people got off their company vehicles/buses & walked towards their homes on Wednesday night following a massive #TRAFFIC #JAM on and below the #ElectronicCity flyover after rains.

Tired of waiting endlessly in the traffic, some commuters got off their company vehicles/buses & walked towards their homes.
Many commuters shared pictures and videos of Bengaluru's infamous traffic. In various pictures, cars and other vehicles are seen lined up.
After the incident, on Tuesday Bengaluru traffic police issued an alert, saying, " Emergency work will be carried out from the 25.10.2024 night to 28.10.2024 morning on the road, between Sai baba Layout Cross to Doddamara Junction on Rayasandra Road which falls under the jurisdiction of Electronic city Traffic Police Station. It is pertinent to mention that the heavy vehicles viz. BMTC/ Private buses, heavy goods/transport vehicles are not allowed to travel in this route."

It further said that the commuters going from Hosa road Junction towards Rayasandra - Choodasandra are advised to go via Chennakesava nagar 1st Cross, Ramareddy Circle, Birla Junction, Silver County Road. Vehicles travelling towards Electronic city/ Hosur from Choodasandra are advised to reavel via silver county road, Birla Jn, Ramareddy Circle, Channakeshavanagar 1st cross.

People, on social media, expressed their frustration, saying, "#Bengaluru x Rain x Traffic So yesterday, I left my office in Whitefield at around 5.30 pm and reached home in Yelahanka by around 9.30 pm. That's approximately 4 hrs on the road for 30 km in rain and traffic! The day before yesterday, it was 3.5 hrs. Last week it was 3 hrs 15 mins. Six months back, it was 1 hr 45 mins. Records getting broken every day! When will this end?"

Another user which goes by the name of Karnataka Portfolio, which shares state-related updates, uploaded a video of slow-moving traffic and people walking on a flyover. The user said traffic has been standstill for over four hours, with vehicles backed up from Bommanahalli to Electronic City due to heavy rain.
