MUMBAI: A fire broke out in a 24-storey residential tower in Dahisar East on Sunday afternoon, civic officials said.
The blaze was reported around 3pm on the seventh floor of New Janakalyan Society at Shanti Nagar . No casualties have been reported so far, officials confirmed, reported PTI.
The high-rise was heavily smoke-logged, posing challenges for firefighters engaged in rescue and containment operations. At least seven fire engines, along with other emergency response vehicles, were rushed to the spot.
Firefighting efforts are underway, while the exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, officials added.
