Kundapura: A goods truck travelling from Bhatkal towards Mangaluru veered off and mounted a divider on National Highway 66 near Ankadakatte late Thursday night while trying to avoid a barricade.
The front of the truck was badly damaged in the mishap. Locals allege that the placement of such barricades causes more harm than good, especially at night.
Accidents occur as the barricades are left in place without proper illumination or warning signs. Thus, citizens are demanding that such barricades be removed at night to prevent accidents.
