Rajasthan CM Visits FlixBus HQ, Discusses Investment, Job Creation, and Digital Empowerment of Bus Operators

Udaipur: Global travel-tech leader FlixBus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan during the visit of Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, to FlixBus headquarters in Munich, Germany. This agreement marks a commitment from both sides to improve bus-transport infrastructure, create jobs, and empower local bus operators through cutting-edge technology.

During his visit, the Chief Minister engaged in detailed discussions with FlixBus’s global leadership team, including Mr. André Schwämmlein (Co-Founder & CEO) and Mr. Max Zeumer (Chief Operating Officer). The talks emphasized FlixBus’s role in expanding affordable and sustainable bus transport in Rajasthan and how the Government of Rajasthan can support the travel-tech sector to further establish the state as a prime destination for foreign investment and tourism.

Investment and Infrastructure Development

As part of the MoU, FlixBus has committed to making significant investments in Rajasthan, leading to both direct and indirect job creation. FlixBus has also requested cooperation in developing bus terminal infrastructure across the state to enhance passenger experiences, reduce congestion, and maintain their global service standards.

Commenting on the meeting, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, stated, “Our partnership with FlixBus has been strengthened by the MoU signed today. The Government of Rajasthan will work with FlixBus to develop bus transport infrastructure, including bus-stands and bus-ports.”

Max Zeumer, Chief Operating Officer of FlixBus, added, “We are excited to expand our bus network in Rajasthan and bring world-class, sustainable mobility solutions to both passengers and bus partners. With this partnership, we will continue to empower micro, small, and medium-sized bus operators through our technology and provide tourists with a reliable and comfortable travel option.”

FlixBus currently operates nine buses in Rajasthan, serving key routes like Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Jodhpur, Jaipur-Ayodhya, and Jaipur-Dehradun. The company plans to expand its inter-city bus network to additional cities across the state within nine months of its launch in India.

Since launching in India, FlixBus has connected 100+ cities and 200+ destinations, operating 76 buses across 29 lines in North and South India. The company is committed to safety and quality, using standardized BS6 buses that meet strict emission norms and feature advanced safety technologies, including anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and 2-point seat belts for all passengers.
